✨ Nostra Aetate: A Path Toward Understanding

Nostra Aetate, Latin for “In Our Time,” is a landmark declaration issued by the Second Vatican Council on October 28, 1965. It marked a transformative moment in the Catholic Church’s relationship with non-Christian religions, especially Judaism. The document rejects anti-Semitism, affirms the shared spiritual heritage between Christians and Jews, and encourages mutual respect and dialogue.

Nostra Aetate also recognizes the truths found in other world religions and advocates for unity, peace, and understanding across faith traditions. Its message continues to inspire interfaith cooperation and has had a lasting global impact on Catholic-Jewish relations.
